This Privacy Policy explains how Badger Social Inc. ("Badgify," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you access or use the Badgify mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
Badgify is a location-based social app built on authenticity. You earn badges by taking a live, in-app photo at real places and events, and you choose what to share and with whom. Badgify is privacy-first by design: accounts are private by default, popularity metrics such as follower and like counts are hidden, your live location is never shown to other people, and we do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Please read this Policy together with our Terms of Service. By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described here.
This Privacy Policy applies to:
This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, apps, or services that may be linked to or integrated with the Services (for example, the venues you visit, event providers, or external links shared by other users). Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.
Account information:
If you use a legacy username-and-password login (available where phone sign-in is not enabled), your password is stored only as a salted, irreversible hash — we never store it in readable form.
Purchases. Badgify offers optional in-app purchases (for example, retroactively claiming a badge). Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store — we never receive or store your card number or full payment details. From Apple we receive a purchase/transaction identifier and receipt confirming a valid purchase, the product purchased, and the purchase date. We use this to deliver what you bought, to verify the purchase is genuine and prevent duplicate or fraudulent claims, and to handle refunds, chargebacks, and support requests.
User-generated content ("Moments"):
Location information:
Device and usage information:
Camera and photos:
We do not purchase personal information about you from data brokers, and we do not build advertising profiles about you.
We use personal information to:
We do not use your personal information to target advertising to you based on your behavior, interests, or profile. Sponsored badges and partner offers are contextual — they are tied to a place or event, not to a profile of you. Earning a sponsored badge is always your choice; nothing is shared with a partner unless you choose to earn that badge or redeem that offer.
Badgify is private by default. New accounts are private. You control your visibility:
Always private (visible only to you): your precise location, your phone number and any email address, your blocked list, your reports, and any Moment you mark "Only me."
Visible to friends (on a private account): your full badge passport, your Moments shared to friends, and the map of places you've been — visible only to people you have accepted as friends.
Public profile (visible to anyone on Badgify): your username, display name, profile photo, and any achievements you choose to feature. Anyone can find you by name and send a friend request.
Public Moments: if you set a Moment to "Public," it can be seen by anyone on Badgify. To reduce the risk of mistakes spreading, brand-new public Moments are held off other people's feeds for a short safety-review window before they appear.
Event only: at a private event, you can share a Moment with the people at that event. It appears in that event's gallery for its attendees and is never shown in your feeds or to anyone who was not part of the event.
Badgify does not display follower counts, like counts, or other vanity metrics. Popularity is not the point.
We share personal information only in these limited circumstances:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) or comparable laws. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), where required.
We treat the following as sensitive and limit its use to operating and securing the Services and to the purposes you authorize: precise geolocation, your phone number, and the contents of your photos and messages. We do not use sensitive information to infer characteristics about you for advertising.
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy:
When you delete your account, we follow the deletion process in Section 8.
You can delete your Badgify account at any time from Settings → Account & Safety → Delete account in the app, or by emailing support@badgifyofficial.com.
When you delete your account:
1. Your account and profile are permanently deleted immediately, your username is released, and the action cannot be undone. Because deletion is immediate and irreversible, the app asks you to confirm before it proceeds. 2. We delete your personal information — your profile, badges, achievements, Moments, photos, friendships, group memberships, and messages — from our active systems right away, except for the limited records we are legally required to retain (which are kept only as long as required and then deleted) and de-identified or aggregated data that can no longer be linked to you. Residual copies may persist briefly in routine backups before they are overwritten on their normal cycle. The limited records we retain after deletion include purchase and transaction records that tax, accounting, and audit obligations require us to keep (see Section 7). These contain a purchase identifier, product, and date — not your payment-card details — and are not linked back to a rebuilt profile of you. 3. Content you shared into shared spaces (for example, a comment in a group) may be removed or shown without attribution; copies cached or stored by other users on their own devices are outside our control.
You may also request deletion of specific information without deleting your whole account, or ask us to correct inaccurate information, by contacting support@badgifyofficial.com. If you are a non-Member whose information appears in the Services (for example, in a contact match), you may contact us to request deletion of that information.
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
To exercise any of these rights, email support@badgifyofficial.com. We will verify your request (typically through your registered account) and respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days, with one permitted extension where allowed). You may use an authorized agent where the law permits.
California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and other U.S. state residents: you have the rights described above to the extent your state law provides them. We do not sell or share personal information and do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland: where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases for processing are: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Services), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Services and keep the community safe), your consent (for example, for precise location capture and contact matching, which you can withdraw), and compliance with legal obligations. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Where we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, least-privilege access controls, SMS-based phone verification and device-integrity checks for sign-in, hashed passwords for any legacy login, and monitoring for anomalous activity. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.
Our website uses a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies necessary to operate the site and remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Where required by law, we present a cookie notice and honor the Global Privacy Control. The Badgify mobile app uses local device storage to keep your settings and does not use advertising identifiers for behavioral tracking. We keep the optional usage-analytics collection in our backend tools turned off and rely on aggregated or de-identified diagnostics to keep the app working.
The minimum age to use Badgify is 13. Badgify is a general-audience service that is not directed to children under 13. No one under 13 may create an account or use the Services, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), if we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will deactivate the account and delete the information promptly. If you believe someone under 13 is using Badgify, contact support@badgifyofficial.com.
We care deeply about the safety of younger users, and we apply enhanced protections to minors:
Because Badgify includes user-generated content and real-world places, we provide tools to keep the community safe:
Reports and block lists are kept as part of your private account data and are used for safety and enforcement. See our Terms of Service for the community rules we enforce.
The Services may display events, places, or links provided by third parties (for example, ticketing and event partners). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third parties. Review their policies before providing information to them.
Badgify is operated from the United States. If you use the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States and other countries that may have different data-protection laws than your own, subject to the safeguards described in Section 9.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where required by law or where the change is significant, provide additional notice (such as an in-app notice) and, where applicable, advance notice before the change takes effect. Prior versions are archived and available on request. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
